Today, we return to our Photo Mixtape series with a look at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I had a bunch of photos on my computer from my last few visits to the park, none of which really fit into a post of there own. Pretty much all of these were taken during summer of 2019, prior to the official Galaxy’s Edge opening on August 29.
The new security area is huge, wrapping around both sides to make for the easiest approach of all 4 parks.
The Citizens of Hollywood are always a highlight of the park. Its a shame so many of them have been lost due to budget cuts.
Slinky Dog Dash continues to be way more fun than I even thought it would when it was announced.
Buzz watching over Galaxy’s Edge.
I love pretty much everything about Muppet-Vision 3D (aside from the annoying Waldo character). I would go see pretty much every one of these fake marquees in the queue.
While the Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show is definitely due for replacement (or at least a significant upgrade), its still not without its highlights. The opening puppet show is fantastic, as is the huge Ursula puppet later on.
The biggest issue with it is that it literally just skips the entire 2nd half of the movie, replacing it was a very short video recap. Then it’s just fast forward to the very end.
Likewise, Star Wars Launch Bay needs to be replaced now that Galaxy’s Edge is open. It has some cool stuff in it for fans of the franchise, but the space could be utilized for something much more sufficient. I’ve always been bitter about the Launch Bay to begin with since it replaced the beloved Animation Academy.

Darth Maul is still the G.O.A.T…. don’t @ me.
Tower of Terror is back to normal waits now that it’s phased refurbishment has finished up.
We’ll finish up with a few more random shots of the best show building Disney has ever built.
Mixed messages here.
That will wrap things up for now.
