In our last post, we took a look at the first showing of the Boo to You Parade, as viewed from the hub area here. For the second showing of the parade I figured I would, as usual, grab my favorite viewing location looking straight up Main Street from the Town Square area (see where the blue arrow is pointing below).
Unfortunately, this area was marked off as “reserved” for the second parade. What exactly it was reserved for, and how I could reserve it myself for a future date, nobody was able to tell me. In the end only about 4 or 5 people filled in there which was a terrible waste of prime real estate if you ask me. I heard rumors that it had to do with a mistake in the original listing for the fireworks dessert party which mentioned reserved parade viewing as well, but I don’t know for sure if that was the case.
Something to note for those attending MVMCP in the upcoming months, is that this location will definitely be reserved for the second showings of the Once Upon A Christmastime Parade. Disney recently announced a (ridiculous) party within a party upcharge event at Tony’s Town Square which will include reserved viewing of the second parade. We will have more on that when we look at the WDW Christmas offerings in the upcoming weeks, but needless to say we are not fans of this new upcharge.
For now however, we will try to stay on track with our Halloween coverage and take a look at the Boo To You parade as viewed from about 1/4 of the way up Main Street.
As i’ve mentioned in previous posts, its typically much easier to grab a spot for the 2nd parade. I snagged this spot around 10:45 for the 11:00 ride of the Headless Horseman (the rest of the parade gets to Main Street closer to 11:20).
After the Headless Horseman completes his ride, the Zootopia party patrol comes out and dances for a while to try and keep the crowd entertained until the rest of the parade arrives. It’s fine I guess, but its quite the shift in tones going right from dark and menacing Horseman to the Shakira pop song conga line.
It does help keep the kids entertained at least. Many parents on the other hand seem confused as to why the parade seemingly starts and then stops right away. While it may be common sense, I always thought Disney should note on its entertainment guide that the parade start time does not reflect when it will arrive at Main Street.
Finally, the rest of the parade comes rolling along.
Its unsurprisingly the same as before in terms of floats and characters. For that reason, I won’t go too crazy with the running commentary here. Refer to our previous post if you need to re-read all the wonderful thoughts in my head.
As I mentioned previously, this is a very difficult parade to photograph. Main Street is slightly easier than the hub area, but its still rather tough. Many of the photos here are not what I would typically consider keepers, but I wanted to include as much as possible to give a full recap of the parade.
The Haunted Mansion sections remain as my favorites.
The cast member performers are seriously wonderful!
The Frontierland crowd holds a special place in our hearts as well.
Anastasia Tremaine was having a blast!
Drizella was not loving it.
I hope you enjoyed these various perspectives of the Boo To You Parade. We will be back soon with something new as we move on from Halloween. Thanks for reading!
