Today, we are going to take a look at one of the best quick service restaurants in all of Walt Disney World.
Satu’li Canteen, located within Pandora, opened along with the rest of the land back in 2017. The restaurant features a menu that is quite unique and uses fresh quality ingredients. It’s a wonderful change of pace from the typical burgers, chicken fingers and fries of most Disney quick service restaurants.
The decor of the restaurant is Na’vi themed and there are tons of details throughout.
Its still a large, fairly open seating area (sorta like a mess hall), but there is enough theming to keep it visually interesting. Its a fun atmosphere overall.
The restaurant also offers covered outdoor seating.
Menu wise, the big item here is the customized food bowls.
For each bowl, you get to choose a protein (Chicken, Beef, Shrimp or Tofu), a base (Noodles, Potato Hash, Rice & Beans or Salad) and a sauce (Green Onion Vinaigrette, Black Bean Vinaigrette or Creamy Herb Sauce).
All entrees come with a vegetable slaw and boba balls as well. Boba balls are all the rage right now it seems. They work well for Pandora / Galaxy’s Edge type places thanks to their look. Its pretty easy to pretend there is something alien about them.
Disney originally had the steamed burger / veggie pods on its adult menu as well, but it has since been moved to the kids menu. Don’t worry though, adults can still order them if they like.
That being said, they are nothing all that special.
Upon entering the line to order, you can see some of the meats being freshly grilled. There is a lot of smoke which gives the meats a great charred flavor.
Above is a chicken and beef combo bowl, with a noodle base and creamy herb sauce. Everything here is quality. The chicken had a nice char to it and was seasoned wonderfully. The beef is like a high quality roast beef you would get at the supermarket warmed up.
The noodles are cooked well and nicely seasoned and the vegetable slaw provided a nice crunch. The creamy herb sauce adds a nice flavor but in the future I’d order it on the side. They give you a lot of it and it made the bottom half the the dish a bit on the soggy side.
I ordered the non alcoholic “Pandoran Sunrise” to drink. This is basically melon powerade with a few additional juices thrown in. It was yummy and only 50 cents more than a fountain beverage.
The restaurant does have decent sized alcohol menu as well.
For dessert, I went with the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse.
This is one of my favorite desserts at WDW, table service included. Not only does it look really cool to fit in with the land, but its straight up delicious!
It has the perfect level of sweetness, balanced nicely by the tartness of the blueberry. If I could eat one of these every day I would!
Overall, Satu’li Canteen is perhaps my favorite quick service restaurant in Walt Disney World. It’s definitely my favorite inside the parks! It features a great menu, quality food and a nice atmosphere!
Waits can get a little long to order during peak times, however I’ve found that mobile order is a nice work around to this.
There have been times where the line was backed up to the entrance of the building, yet my mobile order was ready within 5 minutes. It seems most folks are still heading to the registers to order allowing you to basically skip ahead of all them by ordering through the app!
We highly recommend considering Satu’li Canteen during your next trip. We don’t think you will be disappointed.
