We finish up our week of DL Resort photo tours with a look all around California Adventure. Like our previous similar post for Disneyland Park, these photos were all just sitting on my computer unused from different visits. When combined together, they paint a pretty solid picture of what you may expect to see during a typical day at Disney’s California Adventure.
We’ll start things off in the real highlight of the park, Cars Land!
Radiator Springs Racers #3 on our list of Top 11 Rides at Disneyland Resort. It would probably take the #1 spot for a lot of folks. Its top notch!
The animatronics are really pretty amazing. They look like a cartoon has come to life before your very eyes!
The ride reportedly cost $200 million to build and is basically both a high quality dark ride combined with high speed style ending of Epcot’s Test Track.
I loved Luigi’s Rollickin Roadsters probably way more than I should. The cars dance along to old Italian style songs and for whatever reason, I get quite the kick out of it!
A Bugs Land closed late last year to make way for the future Marvel Land currently in development. While the land itself wasn’t all that exciting, it did serve an important purpose at the park providing several rides for young kids.
Monsters Inc: Mike and Sully to the Rescue is a solid enough dark ride. However, given when it was built, it would have been nice to see a bit more modern tech used.
It can be easy to pass by unnoticed, but don’t miss the Disney Animation Building in Hollywood Land. In addition to being a nice long break in the air conditioning, the building features several fun interactive attractions.
Turtle Talk With Crush is the same as the Epcot version. It’s a fun 15 minutes the kids will love, with enough jokes to keep the adults entertained.
Downstairs you can visit The Sorcerer’s Workshop, as well as Beast’s Library. Every few minutes the lighting and photo above the fireplace change from light to dark.
You can also meet Anna and Elsa in this building.
I don’t have a photo, but the building also houses the Animation Academy where you can learn to draw a different Disney character every half hour. This was one of our favorite things to do at Hollywood Studios before it sadly closed to make way for the underwhelming Star Wars Launch Bay. Its great that you can still do it out west at least.
Frozen: Live at the Hyperion is a Broadway style production that follows the same plot as the film. Its about and hour long and is worth your time. Here is a full photo recap and review of the show for those interested!
While I love Mission Breakout, it doesn’t exactly fit in all the well with the rest of the park’s skyline.
The attraction itself is really great at least. I even go as far to say that its better than the (inferior) version of Twilight Zone Tower of Terror that it replaced.
I mentioned in our after dark photo tour what a big fan I am of the Grizzly Peak area. Grizzly River Run is Disney’s best rapids ride, and I never get tired of seeing the awesome bear shaped peak. The land has some really neat merch as well!
Once dusk rolls along, we tend to hang out mostly around Pixar (formerly Paradise) Pier.
California Screamin’ was overlayed to become the Incredicoaster last year. It honestly doesn’t change the overall experience all that must. It was a fun coaster before and its a fun coaster now.
Mickey’s Fun Wheel was also rethemed to the Pixar Pal O Round.
Goofy’s Flight School is basically just a wild mouse coaster. It’s a bit of an eye sore but at least its tucked away in a corner.
Silly Symphony Swings is always fun but like most carnival type rides, its too short.
Seriously love Grizzly Peak!
Well, that will just about wrap things up for our week of Disneyland Resort photo tours. We love heading out west to visit Disney’s original theme park and suggest everyone do it at some point at possible! Not only is DL our favorite park in the US, but California Adventure has plenty of great things to offer as well.
As always, thanks for reading and bye for now!
Always great pictures and enjoyable to see all of this blogger’s tours and honest approach.
