We conclude our week of Christmas in January with a December morning breakfast at Ale & Compass Restaurant, followed by a leisurely walk around Crescent Lake.
Ale & Compass Restaurant is located inside Disney’s Yacht Club in the space previously occupied by Captain’s Grill. We always enjoyed the breakfast menu at Captain’s Grill so we decided to head over one morning and give the new restaurant a try.
The interior of Ale & Compass has a modern feel. Its light on theme but its pleasant enough. The restaurant offers a breakfast buffet, as well as individual breakfast entrees.
We had a big early dinner planned so we decided against ordering the buffet this time.
Above is the Dark Chocolate Waffles, served with a cherry compote and espresso mascarpone cream. It comes with a side of bacon as well. This was absolutely delicious, even if it is really more like eating a dessert. The super sweetness of the waffle was balanced brilliantly by the espresso in the cream. I’d order it again.
A more traditional offering is the “American Breakfast” seen above. This is basically your standard eggs, potato, bacon and toast. The stand out here was the potatoes. They a mix of regular and sweet potatoes, diced and perfectly seasoned. The eggs were similar to what you’ll find anywhere that serves breakfast on property. Toast is toast.
Overall, we were happy with our breakfast here. The standard egg breakfast was solid and the waffles were fantastic. It’s a little pricey for breakfast (our bill was $38 before our AP discount), but still not a bad option if you are in the area.
Now lets take a look around the Yacht Club lobby decked out for the Christmas season.
The big attention grabber is this miniature train set. Its a really cool model with tons of neat little details.
And moving on to the rest of the lobby.
Since we love Crescent Lake, we decided do a lap around and walk off our meal.
The area is just so chill and relaxing. Its a refreshing break for the hustle and bustle of the parks.
We strongly recommend spending an evening in the Boardwalk / Crescent Lake area if you can find the time. Its really a wonderful night out. You can read more about that here.
Various watercraft can be rented from the Marina here.
And back to where we began.
We had a really nice morning visiting the Yacht Club and surrounding Crescent Lake area. I would recommend it whole heatedly to anybody looking for a relaxing morning as part of their trip.
Thanks for reading! Bye for now!
